Commercial Boiler Flue Installation — London

This project involved the design and installation of a multiple-run external twin wall insulated flue system for a commercial building in London. Several large-diameter stainless steel flue runs were mounted on a purpose-built structural support frame at roof level — each correctly spaced, bracketed and terminated to manufacturer specification and in accordance with BS EN 1443.

External twin wall systems of this type are specified where multiple commercial boilers share a common flue arrangement or where no suitable internal flue route exists within the building. The insulated twin wall construction maintains correct flue gas temperature regardless of external conditions, ensuring efficient combustion and compliance with current regulations.

Full installation documentation and commissioning records were provided to the client on completion.

Boiler flue – Boiler house The single wall condensing chimney liner is seen here entering the boiler house before connecting to the boiler flue header system. The header contained 2No 135 degree Tee’s which reduced to 250mm diameter to connect to the boiler. The base of the brick chimney would be made good after the flue installation.

Boiler Flue – Scaffold This roof-top photo shows the scaffold erected to gain access to the chimney top. The chimney lining was installed in 500mm rigid sections below the set and once the 45 degree off set bends were fitted into the opening at roof level the upper 1000mm modular flue sections were lowered into position from the scaffold above. The brick chimney opening was repaired once the chimney lining was completed.

Boiler flue – Terminal The new boiler chimney lining has a flue terminal installed which is then weathered with a flashing plate and weather collar. Allchimneys also carry out brick chimney repairs to both industrial and domestic chimneys including chimney capping, chimney pointing and complete chimney rebuilds.

Boiler Flue – Finished This image show a 300mm diameter, horizontal branch flue between flue liner and the 2 No. Broag 610 boilers. This installation increased the boiler flue take off from 250mm, to 300mm. The branch flue is completed with support brackets, 135 deg tees, 45 and 90 degree bends, drain and end cap.

Who We Work With

We work directly with facilities managers, M&E contractors, housing associations, commercial landlords and local authorities across London and the South East. If you manage a building with a gas-fired boiler system, we can help — from a single inspection to a full design-and-install contract.

Condensing Boiler Flue Lining in Older Properties

Modern condensing boilers produce a cooler, moisture-laden flue gas that is highly corrosive to traditional unlined brick flue systems. Many older London buildings were built with unlined brick chimneys not suitable for a condensing boiler without relining. We install the correct stainless steel single-wall condensing flue liner within existing brick chimney structures.

Working at Height — No Scaffolding Required

Our IRATA-certified rope access team carries out flue installations and inspections on tall buildings across London without the cost and disruption of scaffolding.

Compliance & Certification

All installations are carried out in accordance with BS EN 1443 and manufacturer installation requirements. We provide full documentation on completion including installation certificate, commissioning record and photographic survey.
